Cumberland House is a friendly, family run, Victorian Guest House, built in 1907 and offers accommodation near Gatwick Airport [only two miles from the terminals at London Gatwick Airport] yet away from the flight path.
The house has been owned by Carmel Farquhar and Clive Gouger since March 2005. Carmel and Clive continue to maintain the high standards that Cumberland House has offered guests for over 20 years:
'We offer value for money accommodation and pride ourselves in looking after all our guests on a personal basis. Although our accommodation is very close to Gatwick Airprt, we are also a very popular Bed & Breakfast for people visiting the many sights of London, or for those working or visiting family in the surrounding areas of Horley, Redhill, Salfords, Reigate and Crawley.'
Bedrooms
The ground floor bedroom is ideally suited for those who have a lot of luggage or may find the stairs difficult. This room is suitable as Twin / Single accommodation and has both a Bath Tub and a Power Shower included in the en-suite facilities.
All first floor bedrooms have an en-suite shower room and in addition, two of the rooms have a bath tub & shower.
All first floor bedrooms are adaptable to suit your individual accommodation needs - from Family, Triple, Double, or Twin to Single occupancy.
Room temperature can be changed with thermostatically controlled radiators, or electric fans in warmer weather. Hairdryers and ironing facilities are available on request.

Breakfasts
'We can guarantee you will not leave our table hungry.'
Served between the hours of 7:00 and 08:45, there is a choice of Continental Breakfast, Full English Breakfast, or a Vegetarian Option.
Full English Breakfast includes bacon, sausage, egg, tomato, mushrooms, hash brown, baked beans and fruit juice, tea/coffee and toast.
Continental Breakfast includes fresh fruit salad, cereals, yoghurt, orange juice, muffins and croissants. Continental Breakfast is self-service and is available between 03:00 and 08:45.
Gluten Free Breakfast - The youngest member of the family, Gordon, is Coeliac. Therefore Carmel is very experienced in cooking a Full English Breakfast, which is Gluten Free.
Breakfast Room
Breakfast is served in the elegant breakfast room located on the first floor, overlooking the front of the house.
The Breakfast Room is a bright, airy room where you can can see Clive's collection of Goebel Monks.
These stand proudly on display and range from small to large jugs, cruet sets, pipe stubbers, match box holders, egg cups, pourers, stoppers and decanters. To learn more about Clive's Monks take a look at www.myfriars.com
Cumberland House is within easy walking distance of Horley town centre where you will find restaurants to suit every taste. The variety of cuisine includes, Italian, Chinese, Indian and Mediterranean.
If you prefer traditional English food why not try Ye Olde Six Bells. This 16th century pub is believed to have connections with the Parish Church next to it, which dates back to the 14th century. The earliest known date is 1304, although it was not known by its current name until 1393. Now part of the Vintage Inn group, this pub serves meals throughout the day and evening and is situated approximately 250 yards from our guest house.
